Stephen R. Cendrowski is an alumnus of the MSU Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program, 1990 (practicum at Henry Ford Hospital).  After graduation, he worked as a medical technologist first at Henry Ford (hematology and ER STAT labs), then St. John Hospital until 1992 (ER STAT lab).  Then, in mid-1992 Dr. Cendrowski moved onto the UM-Unit for Lab Animal Medicine (ULAM) where he worked as the medical technologist in charge of the Animal Diagnostic Laboratory until 1999.  During his career as a medical technologist in the ULAM, he earned a Master of Public Health Degree (in Hospital and Molecular Epidemiology) from the University of Michigan School of Public Health (1998).  Later, in 2004 Dr. Cendrowski completed his doctoral studies in microbiology and immunology at UM.  After receiving his PhD in 2004, Dr. Cendrowski began a post-doctoral fellowship in Dr. Robert Perry’s lab at the University of Kentucky (Lexington), and then in 2005 began working as a Research Scientist at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, OH until coming (back) to MSU as faculty in 2006.
