Industrial/Clinical Partners

Completion of a real-world project, conducted in conjunction with a clinical/industrial partner, is the culmination of the BMLO degree program. This capstone project is intended to provide a bridge between the academics and practice, thus helping students make the transition to their post-MS career path. This experience allows students to further develop problem solving skills and to integrate, synthesize and apply academic concepts to the complex matrix of the real-world. Students will be expected to generate viable, positive and realistic solutions using both scientific understanding and an appreciation for the current economic/regulatory environment. This experiential learning activity is a key element of the program.

Participation in these projects as an industrial/clinical partner has advantages to all involved. There are several possible benefits partners may realize. First, completion of the project may offer creative solutions to problems specific to the participant. Second, these solutions can be obtained with little time or effort from the participant. An additional benefit is the opportunity to participate in the education and development of potential employees who could advance the mission of your institution. A final benefit is participating partners will have access to the scientific expertise and professional resources of the Medical Technology Program at Michigan State University.
