| I served my internship at Sparrow Hospital where I remained working in the Histology Department. I was privileged to work with Dr. Black at the hospital as well as his private laboratory. My first taste of forensic pathology came from this experience. I left Sparrow to work at the Michigan Department of Public Health Microbiology Unit where I stayed for approximately five years. During this time frame I earned my Masters Degree with a major in Biological Science and a minor in Education. Subsequently, I worked in Kenosha, Wisconsin for approximately three years in Microbiology. I ultimately spent the majority of my career at Leila Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan. Over the span of time with Leila, I served as the Administrative Technologist, worked to established the Medical Technician Program at Kellogg Community College, and served as an instructor in the MT program for one year while working in the laboratory. I left Laboratory Medicine for an opportunity to serve in an administrative capacity for the hospital. I earned a Certificate of Health Administration from University of Alabama Birmingham. I retired in the 90's, privileged to have served. |
