Dr. Aaron Lundgaard is a native of Michigan, being raised in Utica. His educational and athletic endeavors in high school brought him to Michigan State University, where he was an honors student and an athlete. He graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology in 1996. He continued his education at the National University of Health Sciences in Chicago (formerly the National College of Chiropractic), receiving a Bachelors Degree in Human Biology and professional degree as a Doctor of Chiropractic. During his schooling, he received a fellowship in biochemistry, which included a position as part-time faculty to teach clinical biochemistry. In this capacity, he performed numerous class lectures and developed case studies in a problem-based learning format for educational purposes.

During his internship at National College of Chiropractic Woodridge Clinic, Dr. Lundgaard’s experiences included certification in Flexion Distraction technique by the post-graduate division of National College of Chiropractic. He became actively involved in community outreach programs and was instrumental in developing programs for community sporting events, where the clinic provided health care to athletes participating in road races, soccer tournaments, and other sporting endeavors. This carried over into his practice experience at Total Health Systems, P.C. in Detroit, Michigan where he practiced chiropractic for two years in a multidisciplinary medical setting. He also spent time developing personal training protocols aimed at injury prevention and rehabilitation at Lifetime Fitness in Shelby Township.

In his current capacity as a chiropractic physician at Advanced Healthcare in Charlotte, North Carolina, he specializes in the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders while working together with other health care professionals including: physical therapists, athletic trainers, personal trainers, massage therapists, and medical physicians. This health care model enables a patient to be brought from acute injury or chronic illness to full rehabilitation in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

He has developed numerous community outreach programs, focusing on topics such as osteoporosis and low back pain. This included implementing a low back wellness program that included education as to the epidemiology, anatomy, structures prone to injury, mechanisms of injury, and active prevention of low back pain and related disorders.

Concurrent with his staff position, Dr. Lundgaard is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association), and in this role has done group conditioning for high school athletic programs and developed individualized work out protocols for optimal fitness. His current project is developing off season and in season training protocols for NASCAR pit crews and drivers. The team he is working with at present is the defending Craftsman Truck series champions.
