Gabrielle Seyka's first exposure to Medical Technology was while working for the College of American Pathologists in their Traverse City, Michigan computer center. She was responsible for the workload productivity and quality assurance systems which computed data from laboratories over the entire United States and included all military base laboratories. After moving back to the Lansing area, where she grew up, Gabrielle worked as a temporary employee for the State of Michigan in the offices of Adoption Services and Medicaid. In 1994, Gabrielle became a full time employee at Michigan State University. She worked in both the Colleges of Human and Osteopathic Medicine as well as in the Department of Horticulture in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources before coming to the Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics Program in 2007.
Gabrielle's interaction with the students is her favorite part of her job. Her goal is to know the students all by their names before they graduate and enjoys watching them excel along the way.
In her spare time Gabrielle enjoys shopping on line, playing cards with her euchre buddies, going out for dinner and a movie, and especially enjoys lying in her hammock in her yard.
