I graduated from the Medical Technology Program in 1980 with my Master’s Degree. This month I celebrated my 20th year at GlaxoSmithKline, Inc. When I joined the company in 1980, I was fresh out of the MT graduate program where my mentor was Dr. John Lund of The Upjohn Company. One of my coworkers, Jeff Ambroso, is also an Alumnus. I am currently a senior scientist and I hope to work here at GlaxoSmithKline a few more years and then work at Duke in a research lab. My current interest is measuring enzyme levels in animal liver tissue.

In 2003, I was elected to the office of Secretary of the Division of Animal Clinical Chemistry (DACC), American Association for Clinical Chemistry. It is a 2-year term that is going by too fast. I am learning a lot about Vet Lab Science through my contacts in the DACC. Should any of you want a copy of their newsletter, visit the AACC website, and click on Divisions, then Animal. My wife Michelle works in a lab at Duke Health Systems and we reside in Hillsborough NC.
