At our 75th Anniversary Party we asked Niki and Larry Brace to tell us what they've been doing since they left MSU, here's what they had to say:

Niki writes:
I’ve primarily worked in blood bank/transfusion services. I’ve been at Hines Veteran’s Hospital for 22 years as supervisor and clinical instructor in the Medical Technology Program. I have trained several MSU students in our program over the years and currently work with 2 of them. I have a sister who graduated from the program in 1984, and also have the unique situation that my husband and I were married and lab partners while at MSU.

Larry writes:
Following my internship and a little over a year on the bench in hematology/coagulation, I returned to MSU as Assistant Director and instructor in the School of Medical Technology at MSU. In the two years that followed, I completed an MSU degree in Clinical Pathology. I then accepted a position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Technology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and taught hematology/coagulation there for the next 15 years. I completed a Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology in 1984 at UIC, was promoted to Associate Professor in1983 and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in 1985. In 1990, I accepted a faculty position as Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and as Associate Director of Hematology and Head of Coagulation services for the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center.
My wife and I think we are a little unique as a “Medtech couple” at MSU since we were married during our junior and senior years, graduated together, were lab partners in most of our classes and then entered at the same hospital, Pontiac General.
